Guendalina side track offshore Italy meets objectives

Offshore staff

LONDON – Eni has completed side track well GU2-Dir A on the Guendalina gas field in the northern Adriatic Sea offshore Italy.

Partner Rockhopper Exploration plc says the well reached a planned TD of 3,276 m (10,748 ft). All target horizons within the Pliocene were gas-bearing and penetrated in an up-dip position, with reservoir characteristics as expected.

The well also encountered two deeper gas levels which have been perforated as part of the dual string completion.

Production has now resumed from Guendalina and is currently at 440,000 cu m/d (15.5 MMcf/d).
