TAP offshore linepipe awards imminent

BAAR, SwitzerlandTrans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has contracted Salzgitter Mannesmann International to provide 270 km (168 mi) of onshore linepipe for the TAP gas pipeline project, along with the bends needed for offshore use.

The latter will be needed for the offshore section across the Adriatic Sea.

TAP says it plans to award contracts for the offshore 36-in. linepipe in the near future. The TAP pipeline will transport gas from the Shah Deniz II development in the Caspian Sea to various countries in southern and eastern Europe.
