Second offshore China exploration well comes up dry

SYDNEY, Australia – ROC Oil Co. Ltd. says the second of two exploration wells offshore China in Bohai Bay block 09/05 has reached planned TD of 3,600 m (11,811 ft) MDRT.

Well QK-12-3-1D encountered stacked reservoirs in its targets but there were no hydrocarbon shows. Logging is complete and the well will be P&A’d.

Partners in the block are ROC 60% as operator, and AWE Ltd. 40%.
