Lundin finds gas at Mengkuang offshore Malaysia

STOCKHOLM, SwedenLundin Malaysia has discovered small volumes of gas in its latest exploration well.

The jackup West Prospero drilled the Mengkuang-1 well in license PM307, offshore peninsular Malaysia, 75 km (46.6 mi) northwest of the Lundin-operated Bertam field.

It encountered 9 m (29.5 ft) of gas pay in the I-35 group Miocene channel sands before being P&A’d.

Lundin operates in partnership with Petronas Carigali.
