Libra goes to Technip for Santos basin flexible pipes

PARIS – Libra Oil & Gas has awarded Technip a contract to supply flexible pipes for the Libra extended well test offshore Brazil in the presalt of the Santos basin.

The contract covers the supply of flexible pipes including 8-in. oil production, 6-in. service, and 6-in. gas injection flexible pipes. Designed to produce the first Libra field oil, these will be the first 8-in. oil production pipes installed in the presalt area.

Technip’s center in Rio de Janeiro will perform the project management and engineering. The flexible pipes will be produced at Technip sites in Vitória and Açu, Brazil. Delivery is scheduled to start in the second half of 2016.
