Offshore staff

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Carnarvon Hibiscus started drilling its Sea Lion-1 exploration well offshore Victoria, Australia.

The West Telesto jackup drilling rig will drill the well to a TD of 1,800 m (5,905 ft). Drilling is expected to take up to 30 days to complete.

Sea Lion is northwest of the Gippsland basin in permit VIC/P57, and is around 6 km (3.7 mi) from the West Seahorse field in permit VIC/L31 in which Carnarvon has a 100% interest.

In the event of a discovery there is potential for an integrated development of the two fields.
