MANCHESTER, UKCostain is working with Hurricane Energy on technical solutions to develop the fractured basement Lancaster oil field west of Shetland.

Following a two-year program, the companies have defined an initial development concept based around an early production system (EPS). This is designed to provide additional knowledge of the reservoir and minimize capital exposure, at the same time providing an economic return on the capital outlay.

The concept takes into account the current low oil price environment, Costain adds.
