Hongge-1 wildcat under way offshore South Korea

PERTH, AustraliaWoodside Petroleum says the Hongge-1 exploration well was spudded late last month on block 8 offshore South Korea. The company expects to receive results later this year.

Offshore Myanmar, planning continues for drilling of the Shwe Yee Htun-1 (ex-Saung-1) well in block A-6 in late 2015, Woodside adds, followed by the Tha Lim-1 well in block AD-7 in 1Q 2016.

Planning continues for acquisition of extensive 2D and 3D seismic surveys over blocks A-4, A-7, AD-2, and AD-5 in late 2015 and early 2016.

Offshore New Zealand, Woodside continues to analyze and interpret preliminary data from the Vulcan and Toroa 3D seismic surveys. It expects to receive an updated data set later in the year.
