Guangzhou Shunhai orders MacGregor AHTS deck machinery

LONDON China’s Guangzhou Shunhai Shipyard has ordered MacGregor deck equipment for five new vessels.

MacGregor will supply anchor handling/towing winch packages for five 48-m (157-ft) anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, each with a 75-metric ton ( 82.5-ton) bollard pull and one 40-m (131-ft) AHTS vessel with a 70-metric ton ( 77-ton) bollard pull. The vessels are under construction for an undisclosed Middle East owner.

MacGregor will supply a medium-pressure 150-metric ton (165-ton) capacity anchor handling/towing winch, a tugger winch, capstan and hydraulic power unit for each of the 48-m AHTS vessels, and a 100-metric ton (110-ton) capacity anchor handling/towing winch, a tugger winch, capstan and hydraulic power unit for the 40-m AHTS vessel.

Delivery of the first vessel is planned for December 2015; subsequent deliveries are planned at intervals up to 3Q 2016.
