Gazprom to partner with Wintershall in the North Sea

LUDWIGHSHAFEN, Germany – BASF subsidiary Wintershall and Gazprom have completed an asset transaction.

Wintershall has transferred a package of interests to Gazprom that include a 50% share in the activities of Wintershall Noordzee, an active E&P player in the Dutch, Danish, and UK North Sea.

In exchange, Wintershall has secured a 25.01% stake in two blocks IV and V in the Achimov formation of the Urengoy gas/condensate onshore Western Siberia.
