CGG gets go-ahead to start 3D seismic survey of Barrerinhas basin

MASSY, FranceCGG has received all necessary permits to start acquiring the first regional broadband seismic survey of the frontier Barreirinhas basin in the Equatorial Margin offshore northern Brazil.

The Oceanic Vega is expected to start shooting the 14,500-sq km (5,598-sq mi) MegaBar 3D multi-client survey early next month, deploying Sercel Sentinel solid streamers.

CGG will process the resultant BroadSeis dataset at its Rio de Janeiro Subsurface Imaging center. The company plans to fasttrack data in various phases, starting in May 2016.
