AEG to power semisubmersible platform for Dalian

ZWANENBURG, the Netherlands – AEG Power Solutions will provide the power source for Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore’s BT-4000 deepwater semisubmersible platform.

The power system will be based on AEG’s Protect 8 development with its modular architecture, enhanced manufacturing process, and “fit to specification” concept.

The BT4000 is a new design by Bassoe Technology. It comprises the functions of drilling, workover, and well completion. It is targeted to in regions with temperate waters like Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, or Southeast Asia.

Water operation depth is between 200 and 2,400 m (656 and 7,874 ft), and the maximum drilling/workover depth is 8,500 m (27,887 ft).
