Xodus to study decommissioning options for two North Sea fields

ABERDEEN, UK – Nexen Petroleum U.K. has contracted Xodus Group to undertake front-end engineering and design services for decommissioning of the Ettrick and Blackbird fields in the UK central North Sea. 

The program involves assessing best practice decommissioning methods for the main equipment items, including the subsea structures, flowlines, umbilicals, and risers.

Both fields produce through the Aoka Mizu FPSO.
