Wood Group to develop MWCC training simulator

The Marine Well Containment Co. has contracted Wood Group to provide an operator training simulator as well as to support training for deepwater well control loss containment.

Under the award, Wood Group Kenny software will be the start of the simulator which will be located at the MWCC shore base near Corpus Christi, Texas, to train operators who will be involved in the deployment of MWCC’s well containment equipment if capture operations are required for an incident response.

Wood Group has worked with MWCC for four years, providing services including several flow assurance studies for MWCC’s cap and flow design and developing the company’s process operational procedure.

Wood Group Mustang previously completed engineering services for the two MWCC modular capture vessels. Services provided included the follow on design engineering, on-site engineering, integration and testing of systems and components from multiple vendors, field engineering support, management of US regulatory review, and spares procurement.
