Tata to manufacture North Sea Culzean line pipe

HARTLEPOOL, UK - Tata Steel will supply carbon steel welded line pipe for the Maersk Oil-operated Culzean high-pressure/high-termperature project in the UK central North Sea.

The company will manufacture over 18,000 metric tons (19,841 tons) of pipe at its UOE LSAW pipe mill in Hartlepool, northeast England, mainly for Culzean’s 53-km (33-mi), 22-in. gas export pipeline, which will tie into the existing central area transmission system.

BSR Pipeline Services will provide coating services. All manufacturing work should be completed within 18 months.
