SPP enters Norwegian pumps venture

THEALE, UK – Centrifugal pumps specialist SPP Pumps is expanding its position in Norway by forming a partnership with Hillevag Elektro-Diesel AS.

SPP designs, manufactures, and tests NFPA 20 fire pumps, providing horizontal and vertical pump solutions for offshore and onshore applications. It also provides services for seawater lift pumps, API 610 process pumps, and OH2 through BB5 high pressure pumps.

Ian Burrows, head of major projects, said the company had been in discussions with potential customers in Norway such as Statoil, Teekay, Aker Solutions, and Aibel.

Hillevag Elektro-Diesel, based in Stavanger, will support the company’s sales, local packaging, testing and engineering services in Norway.

The 12,000-sq m (129,167-sq ft) Stavanger site offers services for compressors and diesel generators and includes a test rig operating at up to 500 kW, with a dedicated area for lineshaft and submersible pumps, a test loop for API process pumps, and a crane capacity of 10 metric tons (11 tons).
