NPCC to engineer Saudi Arabia-Bahrain pipeline link

Offshore staff

ABU DHABI, UAE – Bapco and Saudi Aramco have contracted National Petroleum Construction Co. (NPCC) and its subsidiary NPCC (Saudi) for offshore pipeline construction services.

Offshore Package II of the Saudi Arabia to Bahrain A/B Pipeline Project concerns the section of pipeline running from Isolating Flange Qurayyah, Saudi Arabia to Isolating Flange Al-Jazair, Bahrain.

NPCC is responsible for engineering design, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation of around 42 km (26 mi) of offshore pipeline, submarine fiber-optic cable, and impressed current cathodic protection.

All work is due to be completed by end-2017.

Earlier this year, NPCC acquired a majority stake in ANEWA Engineering, a multi-disciplinary design engineering consultancy firm based in Hyderabad, India, which has supplied services to the oil and gas sector over the past eight years and which employs more than 300 personnel.

ANEWA’s strengths include process, mechanical, piping, structural, electrical and instrumentation and construction engineering.

In July, NPCC also gained full ownership of Mumbai-based NPCC Engineering Ltd. (NEL).

NEL was a joint venture formed in 2007 between NPCC and Arcadia Shipping providing engineering design services to the offshore industry in India, employing more than 250 personnel.
