New oil, gas lease sale tract data available for Beaufort Sea, North Slope Area wide

HOUSTON -- The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Oil and Gas (DO&G), has released new data for 170 oil and gas Lease Sale Tracts (LSTs) in the Beaufort Sea Area wide and North Slope Area wide.

The new LST spatial data will be used to display tracts on Beaufort Sea Area wide and North Slope Area wide maps for the Fall 2015 competitive oil and gas lease sales, which are scheduled as described in the  2015 Five-Year Program of Proposed Oil and Gas Lease Sales available at http://dog.dnr.alaska..gov/Leasing/LeaseReports.htm.

Specifically, DO&G changed the boundaries of LSTs in an area jointly owned by the State of Alaska (SOA) and the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) along the Colville River. The tracts previously offered in this area were 4 sections, up to 2,560 acres. The new tracts offered in this area are 1 section, up to 640 acres. New LST file numbers have been assigned to the new tracts.

The LST spatial data are available for download at http://dog.dnr.alaska.gov/GIS/GISDataFiles.htm.

The case file and land abstracts for individual LSTs are available at http://dnr.alaska.gov/projects/las/.

Notice, complete details, and tract maps for the Fall 2015 competitive oil and gas leases sales will be issued at a later date.
