IRClass opens second Middle East base

Offshore staff

ABU DHABI, UAE – Classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has opened offices in Abu Dhabi.

This is the company’s second location in the Middle East, following an office in Dubai.

“Oil & Gas is an important growth area for IRClass and Abu Dhabi is therefore a pivotal market location,” said COO C. Sriramamurthy.

“Through this new office, IRClass will offer various services including design validation of ships and offshore structures, technical inspection and certification of jackup barges, offshore platforms, sub-marine pipelines…plus inspection of machinery, equipment and pipes.

“All these services are naturally in addition to our core ship classification capability."
