INPEX offers expanded Abadi gas development plan

TOKYOINPEX Corp. has sent to the Indonesian Special Task Force on Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) a revised development plan for the Abadi gas field in the Arafura Sea’s Masela block.

The revised plan would use an FLNG vessel to handle the greater volume of natural gas found during additional drilling. The FLNG would have a capacity of 7.5 MM tons of LNG. Based on evaluations of three appraisal wells drilled between June 2013 and April 2014 the drilling campaign, INPEX confirmed the presence of a greater volume of Abadi gas reserves.

The initial plan of development was based on developing the Abadi gas field in stages and targeted the deployment of an FLNG plant with an annual LNG processing capacity of 2.5 MM tons as the first stage of development.
