EMAS AMC contracted for Angostura work

EMAS AMC, Ezra Holdings Ltd.’s subsea services division, has finalized a contract with BHP Billiton for the Angostura Phase 3 development, located approximately 35 km (21 mi) northeast of Trinidad and Tobago in the eastern Trinidadian sector of the Venezuela basin.

The total scope of work includes the project management, fabrication, construction, and installation of a 12-in. flowline. Additionally, a complete subsea package was contracted, comprised of control umbilicals, and the detailed engineering, construction, and installation of the pipeline end manifold and inline sled for Phase 3 of the field’s development

Engineering and procurement are currently under way from EMAS AMC’s Houston office with fabrication of the subsea structures and stalking and spooling of flowlines to be carried out at EMAS Marine Base facility in Ingleside, Texas. Offshore execution is scheduled for mid-2016, utilizing the Lewek Express subsea construction and reel-lay vessel.

Ezra Group CEO and Managing Director Lionel Lee noted that this was an entirely new market for the company, which recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Chiyoda Corp.to form the EMAS CHIYODA Subsea joint venture.
