DCP compression platform in place at Malampaya

MANILA, the Philippines – Installation has been completed of the 13,000-ton Malampaya depletion compression (DCP) platform at Shell’s Malampaya field offshore the Philippines.

Shell commissioned the new facility to extend the productive life of the field, which provides more than 400% of the power generation needs of the island of Luzon.

Arup supported the fabrication and offshore installation phase for the self-installing platform. The contractor added that it had optimized the modularization and integration of the substructure while in the dry-dock using a 1,500-ton gantry crane mobilized for the project.
