Advanced Insulation shows new riser buoyancy module clamp

GLOUCHESTER, UK – Advanced Insulation has released a new compliant clamp for use with its distributed buoyancy modules (DBM).

Advanced Insulation says its new clamp is designed to adapt to the needs and conditions of a riser’s operation and to eliminate slippage during its lifespan.

The new technology features an internal clamp consisting of three segments housing nine rubber inserts, which increase the surface contact area at the interface between the riser and the DBM. Vertical bar retainer rubbers ensure there is no drop off while the holding bolts are engaged, which also secures the clamp element orientation and ensures that the clamp cannot misalign around the riser.

The fastener cover clips protect fixings and prohibit the growth of damaging marine life, prolonging the module’s working life.
