VNG lines up further well offshore central Norway

OSLO, Norway – VNG Norge has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill in the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic will drill exploration well 6406/12-4 A, the fifth on production license PL 586, after completing a current wildcat on the same concession.

VNG operates in partnership with Spike Exploration Holding, Faroe Petroleum Norge, and Rocksource Exploration Norway. The location of the fifth well will be around 33 km (21 mi) southwest of the Statoil-operated Njord field.
