South Pars phases 22-24 gain momentum

TEHRAN, Iran – Drilling of eight wells at platform 24A of phases 22-24 of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf should finish by mid-September.

Farhad Izadjou, an official for the operator, told news service Shana that a total of 11 wells have been completed at Phase 22, with pipelay due to get under way soon.

The first platform will be loaded and installed next year he added, with eight more wells to be spud for Phase 24 within the next month.

Three drilling rigs are operating on the two phases, which are designed to deliver 56.6 MMcm/d (2 bcf/d) of sour gas and 75,000 b/d of condensate.
