Petrobras contracts second Prosafe rig for offshore maintenance

LARNACA, Cyprus – Petrobras Netherlands has contracted Prosafe’s semisubmersible vessel Safe Eurus for safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil.

The three-year firm contract, starting in 1Q 2017, will be the first for the DP-3 vessel, making this the second Prosafe vessel under charter to Petrobras.

Safe Eurus
is designed to work in harsh environments. It can accommodate up to 500 personnel. Features include a large capacity open deck area and telescopic gangway, and a 300-metric ton (330-ton) lift capability.

Contract value is around $164 million.
