Offshore rig count down by three

HOUSTON While the total US drilling rig count remained steady, the offshore rig count dropped three rigs to 35. That is 27 fewer than the same period a year earlier, Baker Hughes has reported.

The total count hit 884 as two gas rigs dropped out and two oil rigs were added.

The Canadian rig count is up three rigs from last week to 211, with oil rigs unchanged at 100, and gas rigs up three to 111. The Canadian rig count is down 190 rigs from last year at 401, with oil rigs down 124, and gas rigs down 66.
