ZOETERMEER, the Netherlands – Seaway Heavy Lifting’s crane vessel Oleg Strashnov has installed the process unit (PU) platform topsides for GDF Suez E&P UK’s Cygnus field in the southern North Sea.

In the process, the vessel set a new lift record for the company involving a hook load of 4,700 metric tons (5,181 tons).

Aside from PU, Cygnus is being developed via the Alpha wellhead, quarters unit, and Bravo wellhead platforms.

Last year Seaway’s crane vessel Stanislav Yudin installed the Alpha wellhead platform, PU jacket, quarters unit jacket, and subsea structures.

The campaign continues this year with installation of the Bravo wellhead platform, quarters unit topsides, and connecting bridges.
