Corrosion-resistant wastewater plant tailored to Caspian platform

Offshore staff

PRAGUE, Czech Republic – ACO Marine will soon supply its Clarimar MF wastewater treatment plant to the CFT 623 wellhead platform under construction for Dragon Oil’s CCA development offshore Turkmenistan.

The system has been configured to treat 3.5 cu m/d (123.6 cf/d) of black and grey wastewater and features a sludge tank for liquid discharges from drilling operations.

It has double piping and is manufactured from PPFR composite, claimed to be light weight and fully resistant to corrosion.

It also complies with environmental requirements for this part of the Caspian Sea, incorporating a Bio-Sword filtration technology capable of replacing the settling and chlorination stages typical of conventional biological wastewater treatment systems.

“The Bio-Sword allows the system to operate in environments with bio-mass concentrations up top four times greater than conventional plants, greatly reducing activation tank volume, system footprint and maintenance requirements,” said ACO Marine managing director Mark Beavis.
