Offshore staff

SINGAPORE – Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS) has contracted BW Group to provide a floating, storage, and regasification unit (FSRU) for an LNG regasification project in Ain Sokhna Port, Egypt.

Carsten Mortensen, CEO of BW Group CEO, said: “The project requires a fasttrack schedule – five months from project inception to first gas – which represents a record short time for implementation…”

BW will supply the newbuild vessel BW Singapore, built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, for this project. It should be delivered to Ain Sokhna by end-September and ready for operations in October 2015.

The vessel has a peak regasification capacity of 750 MMcf/d (21 MMcm/d).
