BGP compiling 3D seismic data offshore Kuwait

ZHUOZHOU HEBEI, ChinaBGP has started a 3D transition zone survey for Kuwait Oil Co., covering an area of 2,500 sq km (965 sq mi).

This will extend from most of the inhabited areas of Kuwait city into Kuwait bay, including deep and shallow-water areas.

BGP will employ multiple types of seismic sources used for the project such as vibroseis, explosives, shallow and deep air gun sources.

Last month the contractor’s DFKT2 vessel completed a 90-sq km (35-sq mi) ocean bottom seismic survey over the Bualuang field offshore Thailand for Ophir Energy subsidiary Salamander Energy.
