Alvheim offshore Norway sets production milestone

Offshore staff

TRONDHEIM, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap says production from the Alvheim area in the Norwegian North Sea has passed 300 MMbbl of oil.

This is above the expectations of original operator Marathon Oil and its partners when production started in June 2008, Det norske claims.

Marathon and now Det norske have added new satellite tie-ins through the infrastructure, all connected to the Alvheim FPSO.

Average production from the 25 producing wells in the greater Alvheim area serving the Alvheim, Vilje, Volund, and Bøyla fields is currently around 100,000 boe/d.
