Eni extends Atwood Beacon jackup rig contract

HOUSTON – Atwood Oceanics Inc. (NYSE: ATW) has agreed to a six-month extension of its existing contract with Eni S.p.A. for the jackup rig, the Atwood Beacon.

The Atwood Beacon began a two-year drilling services contract with Eni on Dec. 24, 2013, for operations offshore Italy.

Effective March 1, 2015, the extension agreement revises the day rate to €117,155 ($129,228) from €135,100 ($149,022) and extends the Beacon’s firm commitment through June 2016.
