ADNOC commissions anchor handlers from Sinopacific

SHANGHAI, China – Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group is to build nine anchor handler tug supply (AHTS) vessels for Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and its subsidiary ESNAAD.

All nine vessels are due to be delivered in 2017.

The Shanghai Design Associates SPA80A design, tailored to ADNOC’s needs, features an electric propulsion system and a bollard pull of 80 metric tons (88 tons).

The AHTS vessels will work in shallow water, high salinity, high temperatures, and high humidity in the Persian Gulf.
