LONDON – Ophir Energy has signed a binding heads of terms for a chartering and operating services agreement with Golar LNG. This agreement establishes commercial terms for Golar to build, operate, and maintain the FLNG vessel and facilities at the Fortuna project in block R offshore Equatorial Guinea.
The vessel to be used will be Golar's Gimi FLNG vessel. Golar will operate the Gimi under a 20-year charter term. During this period it will be responsible for the subsea well control, receiving, liquefying, and offloading the gas to LNG vessels.
First gas expected mid-2019.
