Global 1200 sails into Rotterdam for upgrades

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Technip has contracted Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam (DSR) to perform upgrades and modifications to the deepwater s-lay/heavy-lift vessel Global 1200.

The vessel arrived at DSR’s yard last month. It was designed by Ulstein Sea of Solutions and built by Singapore-based Keppel Singmarine.

The main upgrade works are split into three packages:

  • Dry-docking for a Special Periodical Survey and various maintenance/repair duties
  • Modifications to upgrade the vessel’s DP capability
  • Pipelay equipment upgrades for future projects.
