CHC Helicopter expands UK facility

Offshore staff

ABERDEEN, UK CHC Helicopter is transforming its longtime helicopter base in Dyce, Aberdeen, UK. The multimillion-pound investment will transform CHC’s facilities and further raise its capabilities in Dyce by expanding hangar capacity, creating a larger and more streamlined passenger terminal, and providing for a new operations center, the company says.

The development will be delivered in two phases. The first phase will double the size of the existing hangar, creating a purpose-built facility in which CHC’s engineers can maintain more than 20 heavy aircraft. The new operations center will bring together CHC’s pilots, engineers, and technical and support staff. That work is planned to begin during 1H 2015.

In the second phase, expected to start the following year, CHC will redevelop its passenger terminal, improving the experience for offshore workers. The transformed two-story terminal will include a new passenger lounge, along with dedicated space for CHC’s oil and gas customers.
