Browse FLNG moves to FEED phase

Offshore staff

PERTH, Australia – Woodside Petroleum says the Browse Joint Venture has agreed to a revised schedule for front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the Browse FLNG development offshore northwest Australia.

Woodside has completed the basis of design and pre-FEED work. The goal is to lower the overall cost, drawing on lessons learned from other projects.

Additional activities include progressing primary approvals, managing the impacts of the maritime boundary change affecting the Browse retention leases, and additional technical work to optimize and de-risk the development.

The FEED phase is expected to start in mid-2015, followed by a final investment decision in mid-2016.
