Aveon Offshore to fabricate offloading buoy

LAGOS, NigeriaNational Oilwell Varco (NOV) Nigeria has awarded Aveon Offshore Ltd. a contract to fabricate the Egina offloading buoy as part of a package for the Egina OLT contract for Total Upstream Nigeria.

The contract awarded in March for the fabrication of a 900-ton (816-metric-ton) offloading buoy includes the fabrication of the 700-ton (635-metric-ton) buoy hull, the installation and integration of a 200-ton (181-metric-ton) turret, and the launching and pre-commissioning of the completed buoy. Capex for the construction of a slipway for the launching of the buoy is also included in the contract.

The project will be executed at Aveon Offshore's fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni near Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and sail-away of the buoy is scheduled for 2Q 2017.
