Statoil signs Weatherford to supply tubular running services

HOUSTON – Statoil has awarded Weatherford International a $400-million contract to supply tubular running services on 19 drilling units in the Norwegian operator’s portfolio

The six-year contract carries options for a pair of two-year extensions.

Weatherford will assist with the selection and delivery of customizable solutions, helping the company achieve improved well integrity for offshore projects in remote locations and mature fields.

Frank S. Schieldrop, chairman and country manager – Norway, said: “We are there at every phase, analyzing and minimizing risks, establishing process safety for mitigating drilling hazards, and recommending the best technology in terms of both application and availability.”
