PSA grants Statoil permission to drill Saturn prospect in Barents Sea

STAVANGER, Norway – The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil permission for exploration drilling in the Barents Sea on the Saturn prospect.

The ultra-deepwater semisubmersible Transocean Spitsbergen will drill exploration well 7227/10-1 in production license 230. Water depth of the site is 761 ft (232 m).

Drilling is expected to commence in the second half of October 2014, and last for 45 days.
