STAVANGER, Norway – Ocean Installer has won a contract for subsea umbilical, riser, and flowline (SURF) support work in Brazil for Saipem. The contract, which will see the Normand Clipper in Brazil for eight months, is valued at $50 million, with options to extend.
Ocean Installer will support Saipem’s installation of multiple steel catenary lazy-wave risers, free-standing hybrid risers, and export pipelines for the Iracema and presalt projects in the Santos basin area for Petrobras. The scope of work includes a range of services including survey, TDP monitoring, metrology, installation, deployment/recovery, and pre-commissioning.
The Normand Clipper will be mobilizing in October in the Gulf of Mexico before transiting to Brazil to start the work.
