Pil area side track under way offshore Norway

OSLO, Norway – The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic has spudded the VNG-operated Bue side track in the Norwegian Sea.

Well 6406/12-3A is north of the recent Pil discovery in license PL 586, which is thought to hold up to 150 MMboe of reserves. According to partner Rocksource, Bue could contain up to 32 MMboe.

Drilling is estimated to last about 30 days.
