STAVANGER, Norway – Noreco says its latest exploration well in the Norwegian Sea has reached the reservoir of the Verdande prospect. It hopes to issue the results within a month.

The company will also partner with Lundin Norway in an upcoming appraisal well of last year’s Gohta discovery in the Barents Sea, which is designed to assess the field’s western extent and reservoir properties.

According to Noreco CEO Svein Arild Killingland, the company has identified a new prospect in the PL 616 license in the southern Norwegian North Sea which could be drilled in 2015.

“We also see interesting potential in deeper layers under the Huntington field on the UK shelf,” he added.

Noreco is a partner to E.ON Ruhrgas in the Huntington development.
