Impact confirmed as block operator offshore Namibia

LONDON – Impact Oil and Gas has consent from Namibia’s government to take an 80% interest in offshore block 2913B, via its acquisition of Black Star Petroleum.

The company will operate the block in partnership with state-owned NAMCOR and Southern Oil and Gas Explorers.

Block 2913B is in Namibia’s southernmost offshore region, adjoining the maritime boundary with South Africa. It contains oil-prospective deep marine sands within large anticlinal traps immediately west of the Orange River delta.

Impact participated in Spectrum’s non-exclusive 2D seismic survey over the block 2913B in order to accelerate its exploration program.
