ZWIJNDRECHT, the Netherlands – Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) has cut first steel for Marathon’s Alba field B3 compression platform to be installed offshore Equatorial Guinea.

The 4,500-ton Alba B3 compression topside is destined for the Alba gas and condensate field, 20 mi (32 km) north of Bioko Island.

The platform topsides will be supported by a four-legged 2,000-ton jacket to be fabricated at Heerema Zwijndrecht and Heerema Vlissingen.

HFG Polska in Poland will fabricate the nodes and plate girders, for subsequent delivery to Zwijndrecht for the topsides.
