Welltec secures award in West Africa from Shell Gabon

COPENHAGEN, DenmarkWelltec Corp. has received a direct, two-year contract from Shell Gabon for the supply of conveyance, well intervention, and clean-out services. The services will help Shell Gabon increase incremental oil production from its assets in Gabon.

Welltec technologies and services are intended to increase flexibility and reduce the mobilization time for key operations compared to conventional intervention methods utilizing coiled tubing or jointed pipe. Other benefits, according to Welltec, include a reduction in the number of lifting operations, personnel, and footprint, all contributing to improved risk management, particularly in environmentally sensitive environments.
