Aker Solutions to manufacture offshore equipment in Brazil

OSLO, Norway – Aker Solutions (OSLO:AKSO) will receive $140 million in financing from BNDES for oil and gas subsea equipment manufacturing in Brazil. BNDES is the Brazilian social and economic development bank.

Aker’s projects will include a manufacturing plant near Curitiba at $85 million for subsea equipment including christmas trees and mooring/loading systems.

A second plant will go in at Macaé on an investment of $55 million and will be the first drilling equipment manufacturing facility in Brazil.
