RWE Dea completes 3D seismic survey off Suriname

HAMBURG, Germany – RWE Dea has completed its 3D seismic acquisition program in license block 52 offshore Suriname. Data results are to be available 2Q 2014.

RWE Dea holds 40% interest in the block, while operator Petronas holds 60% interest. The seismic vessel Polarcus Naila recorded 1,800 sq km (695 sq mi) of 3D data in block 52 on behalf of the Petronas/RWE Dea consortium.

License block 52 covers 4,743 sq km (1,831 sq mi) in the Guyana/Suriname basin. The Petronas/RWE Dea consortium is targeting Cretaceous plays in water depths ranging from 80 m (263 ft) to 500 m (1,641 ft).
