OMV teams with Ophir offshore Gabon

VIENNA, Austria – OMV has agreed with London-based Ophir Energy on farm-ins to four blocks offshore Gabon.

These collectively cover more than 12,000 sq km (4,633 sq mi), with three exploratory wells planned during 2014, targeting prospects including subsalt structures. Additionally, the partners plan a widespread 3D seismic acquisition campaign.

Planned programs are as follows:

  • Mbeli – 10% – one well, 3D seismic
  • Ntsina – 10% – one well, 3D seismic
  • Gnondo – 30% – one well, 3D seismic
  • Manga – 30% – 3D seismic.

The transaction remains subject to the approval of the government of Gabon.
